The latest issue of #Yiddish #Magazine Yidishland is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of ”The Night of the Murdered Poets”. On this dreadful night in history, a group of poets, falsely accused of espionage and treason among other crimes, was murderd in Moscow. The fact that we are able to publish a literary magazine in Yiddish today is indeed an answer to this vile #Stalinist attack on our literature and others like it. The Yiddish literature will not perish on our watch. 💪🏻

I'm sorry to be the party pooper here, but fighting #fascism or #Nazism was not the primary task (or no task at all) for any country that fought against the Axis in WWII (only some brave individuals did). Their primary task was to secure their economic and geopolitical interests! Yes some of the Allies did this also for human rights, but not to fight Nazism/fascism. The worst atrocities of those regime became only known after the war.

So the tankie myth of #Stalin defeated deliberately fascism in a large part of Europe is utter bullshit. It was just a by-catch!
