For those of you into #ebooks, for some reason I only now discovered #StandardEbooks. It's a small selection of #PublicDomain #DRM-free ebooks.

They take texts from #ProjectGutenberg and properly typeset them and correct OCR and editing errors. They look very nice on your favorite eReader.

If you're using an Apple device, select the "Advanced epub" file and open in the Books app.

If you're using a Kindle, choose "azw3", but don't use "Send to Kindle". (See their FAQ.)

@ntnsndr For you and anyone who's reading this, I'm an experienced #StandardEbooks editor/producer and I'm happy to take personal recommendations of public domain books to read and produce! If you send me a transcription (e.g. Project Gutenberg) of a book that fits the Collections Policy (https://standardebooks.org/contribute/collections-policy) I'm happy to look at it and consider producing it. Basic prose books don't take too long to finish and I appreciate being exposed to new authors and perspectives!

I just finished Etsu Inagaki Sugimoto's memoir A Daughter of the Samurai and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to pick up a new #book! It is based on the author's experience growing up in 1870s Japan and coming to the USA as a bride. I think it's a wonderful piece of early #AsianAmerican #literature, capturing the #immigrant experience while also being oddly reminiscent of #LittleWomen.
