I hate more and more the fragmentation of streaming services. It is not only that every tv serie/movie is on a different platform, is that a lot of them end without nobody streaming them.

I just wanted to watch #StarTrekDiscovery and there is no legal way to do it in my country. Almost all #StarTrek content is on Paramount+ and supposedly it is brought in full to Spain through SkyShowtime, but no, to watch it I have to dust off my captain hat and sail into the high seas like it was 2010

This week's recording sees our Klingon-themed episode reviews turn their sights to #StarTrekDiscovery as we review it's first two episodes; "The Vulcan Hello" & "Battle at the Binary Stars". #StarTrekDiscovery S1 is written like someone who remembers loving #StarTrekTNG, but doesn't remember the details, never watched #StarTrekDS9 or #StarTrekVoyager, and stopped watching #StarTrekEnterprise after the first episode.😖

A1: #StarTrekDiscovery really has an emphasis on people's feels vs getting the mission completed. I thought at first it might have been a more "feminine" view, but now I think it's just a different take.

A6: It's a tricky situation. I understand that Michael has confidence in the bridge crew, but the rest of the ship? Panic is a funny thing, and this news is a helluva distraction. Look how it affected Book. It's the type of knowledge that can either motivate people to follow orders, or 2nd guess their leadership to substitute their own initiative.

That had to be weighed against the crew finding out leadership was hiding the information.

I definitely would have liked to have heard the after action briefing from that away mission, cuz I can imagine an interaction similar to Sisko yelling at Worf in #RulesOfEngagement, "You're damn right you should have scanned that cloaked ship before opening fire!"

They went over with a team of 4 people in Star Fleet uniforms. If ever a situation called for a MACO team from #StarTrekEnterprise this was it!

About the only thing Saru, Culber, and two bridge officers appeared to be prepared for was to try to talk Book and Tarka down.😖

#StarTrekDiscovery ich muss in 4 Tage wieviel Staffeln suchten? Oh, nur 4, na, das wird sportlich 🫣 Immerhin gibt's jetzt schon eine Riesenmilbe als Sympathiträger und warum zum Henker müssen auf Minenkolonien die grundsätzlich immer am Rand vom Nirgendwo sind, die ständig angegriffen werden, nie anständig geschützt werden, auch IMMER kleine Kinder sein die "Mami / Papi" rufen (immer schön bei den Katasrophenübertragungen) wenn sie von Aggressor XY angegriffen werden? 🤪

#StarTrekDiscovery auf jeden Fall muss ich mich erst einmal an das Geschnarze der runderneuerten Klingonen (die sie wohl aus From Dusk Till Dawn geklont haben) gewöhnen ... kein Wunder dass die sich untereinander immer bekriegen, wenn die länger als 1 min reden, werde ICH ja schon voll aggro 🤪

Noch 4 Tage Paramount Testabo, also kann ich mir auch mal #StarTrekDiscovery ansehen. Oha ... das geht ja gut los. 20 km Sandspur, die man vom Orbit aus sehen kann ... das ganze in einem Sandsturm, das tut schon etwas weh. Dann lässt sich der 1.Offizier quasi mit Ansage fast umbringen, dann entwert die selbige mit dem Captain zu zweit ein Klingonenschiff ... und da stirbt dann doch jemand ... Überraschung 🫣 ... naja, mal sehen wie es weitergeht
