Hegemony, written by #HenryAlonsoMyers.

1️⃣ Instead of going with an all-action finale, the show delivers a thriller to end the season. We get some action, of course, but mostly this is an edge-of-your-seat adventure where the enemy is always frustratingly near by.

2️⃣ We also get big character moments and a major new (old) character. Incredibly, the script still delivers moments of comedy.

Okay. If you've been sleeping on the new #startrek series, maybe don't. All of them (#StarTrekDiscovery, #StarTrekStrangeNewWorlds, #StarTrekPicard) are fantastic with good, modern writing, high production values, and a wonderful cast. Whether you're an old fan or just like good stories, there's something here for you.

Plus you get to see @JeriLRyan give the most satisfying response to being deadnamed ever.

Kev & Rob agree that "Subspace Rhapsody" had its charms, but didn't quite live up to the hype, and that "Bride of Chaotica!" (VOY) is the last time going over the top into silliness was the point of an episode. Finally, as a bonus, Rob re-watched Star Trek III: The Search for Spock and was surprised by how much he enjoyed it!

1️⃣ Musicals bother me. The internal logic of what's happening confounds my brain. So... I had mixed feelings about this episode when I first heard about it. I gotta say, they nailed it. It made sense, it worked as a story. A story with a credible threat.

2️⃣ It's remarkable how versatile this show is, how different this episode was to the one directly before it. Or the one before that.
