Anyone who has served alongside Tuvok knows that Vulcans are not without a sense of humor. Somehow the writers consistently manage to serve up Voyager's funniest lines via Tuvok.

Continuing to watch Picard and seeing all the newfound attention Voyager is getting off the back of it plus the rumors of a reboot/revival, I'm kinda hoping this gives enough of a push for them to give it the same remaster treatment that TNG got. I've been rewatching it a lot while Pluto TV has it on a dedicated channel currently and it desperately needs it.

Yep! Had to put on my headphones to really focus on it, but that was it. Played out right when Seven thought she was speaking with the real Tuvok. Pretty subtle, but what an amazing touch to add.

Let me just start by saying that I've really been enjoying Season 3 so far and it just seems to get better as it goes on. Voyager has been my all time favorite Trek series. And TNG, while I never watched much of it, it definitely has that far reaching aspect to it that has drawn me in and has me enjoying seeing all the old timers return.

One thing I immediately noticed first thing this episode. Very subtle if I heard it correctly and maybe someone can confirm for me: Did I hear a hint of the Voyager theme in the background when Seven and Tuvok were speaking? If so, what an absolute classy touch.

After completing S1 of #PaxFedVGRewatch-along with #MissionLogPodcast and #TheDeltaFlyers, I recapped my top three episodes of the season.

I'd planned to do that with S2 as well, followed by an overall Top 5 of the #StarTrekVoyager series so far, but as it turns out, my entire Top 5 - in fact my Top 8 - so far are all from S2 anyway.

So, I will start by recapping my S1 Top 3:

#3: "Eye of the Needle" (#11 overall)
#2: "Caretaker" (#10 overall)
#1: "Emanations" (#9 overall)

Having finally recovered... somewhat... from the effort of compiling and posting that epic New Year's "Resolutions" thread, #PaxFedVGRewatch-along with #MissionLogPodcast and #TheDeltaFlyers wraps up #StarTrekVoyager S2, and opens S3, by getting back to "Basics".

It was an interesting choice to include "Part I" in the first half's title, which telegraphed its cliffhanger nature. (TNG never did this, despite cliffhanger finales being par for that particular course.)

Never let it be said that I didn't keep my New Year's "Resolutions".

I did promise an epic review thread for this episode, after all. (That's coming later today. How much later depends on how wired up I still am after this rewatch.)

At the very end, Adm. Janeway tells the #StarTrekProdigy crew (sans Gwyn) she has "bigger plans" for them than just another Protostar.

We've already seen #StarTrekDiscovery bring back the original Enterprise and the three lead characters from "The Cage", and #StarTrekPicard is about to reunite the TNG crew.

Could Janeway be teasing some kind of #StarTrekVoyager reunion - maybe even bringing that ship herself out of mothballs - in Prodigy S2?

@Jessica I have barely seen any #StarTrek so far, save a few episodes of #StarTrekVoyager , and I'm kinda on the fence about it especially because of the huge influence it made and makes in thinking of people. That said, I am aware of many references so I'm not fully out of the loop xD.

"Deadlock" is a mind-bending, rip-roaring thrill ride of an episode, and my favorite of #StarTrekVoyager so far on #PaxFedVGRewatch. Janeway's sage words for Kim at the end pretty much say it all: "Weird is part of the job."

I am very annoyed with some of these new Trek shows completely disregarding the historical traditions of Star Trek!

Lower Decks, Prodigy, & Strange New Worlds all have great first seasons. Don’t they know the first season is supposed to suck??
