Welcome to Straya, the lucky, erm no, the stupid, well yes, but now also increasingly, the country.

This is simply reprehensible. Utterly a graphic manifestation of government capture by the extractive industries, federally, & in [at least] WA, Qld, NSW, Vic, & Tassie. Oh & let's not forget Redneck Central, aka, NT.

First Nations rights & heritage? Nah, forget about 'em.
Pristine old growth forests? Fire up those chainsaws, boys!
Dwindling koala habitats? Chop chop chop, clear-fell away, lads!
Carbon-bomb new coal & gas projects? Let's go; dig, tunnel, bore, frack... burn, baby, burn!

We are a ridiculous species.

The shenanigans in and the failed state of electricity supply is highlighted by the attempted murder of now ex-CEO Andre de Ruyter. When the mafia regime fails to uphold the law, Byzantine politics and anarchy beckon. This is a deep hole to climb out of, but just another facet of the treason that is .

In 2022 we decided to not use our unflued gas heater over winter and instead rely on our reverse cycle air con unit. We also added a second unit to the other end of the house after last summers ridiculous temperatures, 11 days over 40°C. Our house is a 1950s build with poor insulation and terrible ventilation and needs to be upgraded but is an expesive process with all the asbestos built into the place. Gas stove and water heating systems next on the agenda.

How did this affect our energy usage?
10MWh of electricity generated by our 5kW system
Electricity imported slightly up and gas usage halved.
Solar self use up 1MWh to 40%
Total energy use, included cars, down 12% from 2021.

Costs increase by AU$100 as gas has remained very cheap here in WA due to and a govt that requires X amount of gas at Y price for the domestic market. We also have a 50% discount so it would have been cheaper for us to continue to use gas for our heating.

A couple of months ago I wrote in to ask that the EPAs recommendation to extend the NW Shelf Gas Project to 2070 be reviewed. This is a disaster for the climate and the local peoples rock art that has survived for 1000s of years.

Response from the appeal conveynor below.

This is update 2 on your appeal against Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) Report 1727 for the North West Shelf Project Extension.

What’s happened?

Since our last update, we have focussed on concerns raised by appellants about the adequacy of the EPA’s assessment of the proposal’s greenhouse gas emissions. This has included meetings with some appellants with specific expertise in climate change science and carbon accounting.

We have continued to review the EPA’s assessment of the proposal against best available technology, including how greenhouse gas emissions (and other emissions to air) from other liquefied natural gas proposals are considered elsewhere, including in Canada and the United States.

We have also had discussions with the EPA and representatives of the proponent (Woodside Energy) on the status of their respective responses to the appeals.

What’s next?

For the next two months, our investigations will continue to focus on the EPA’s assessment of greenhouse gas emissions as well as potential impacts to rock art from emissions from the proposal. Our investigation will include engagement with Traditional Owner groups and knowledge holders associated with Murujuga.

A developing focus will also be on human health, noting that a number of appeals (including by medical practitioners) have raised concerns over possible adverse health impacts if the proposal is implemented.

When will I hear more?
We will provide all appellants with a further update by the end of February 2023.

We will provide all appellants with a further update by the end of February 2023.

Just a brief reminder of how the Guptas and their collaborators used Bell Pottinger's guidance, their media properties (like The New Age) and sockpuppet accounts to manipulate our country's narratives. How quickly we forget... news24.com/amp/news24/analysis

Nice cameo of Dubaizane fawning at the Sun City wedding. Basically the Zupta model was to eat the golden eggs even before the goose laid them, though killing the goose in the process. No wonder the traditional egg thieves were offended.
