A Sunday conundrum. 🤔

I've been planning to (or rather, *meaning* to) watch #StationEleven on HBO, but haven't gotten around to it.

However, I didn't know it's based on a novel and I just got a #BookBub email with the book on sale for 2 bucks.

Thus the question: Book or show or both? And if the latter, which first?

Watching #SciFi miniseries #StationEleven and yeah, there's zero reason we'd ever be prepared for a virus globally, and perhaps even more reason to believe -- with brain injuries from COVID, antivaxx propaganda, and general human indecency since covid -- we are on life support as a species and planet.

There’s nothing I like better than the same scene from different POV and angles. So you don’t get the full picture until you’ve seen it again and again. I’m in heaven. Poor poor Todd #StationEleven

Todd hates non-linear storytelling and I LOVE it. He’s also not a big fan of surrealism and whimsy. Oops. Currently torturing him with #StationEleven

Started watching #StationEleven and oh, yeah, this is for me.

Character-driven story, timeline jumping, AND Shakespeare? I'm in.

If you like Shakespeare, watch Station Eleven. The show is a meditation of the need of art for survival. In a non pretentious way.

Also, in terms of survival shows it’s so much better than The Last of Us or The Walking Dead or whatever.

I'd also recommend #StationEleven (also on HBO) which is of a similar vein and is just as moving.

I think it is artistically shot and the exploration of trauma and the human condition is second to none.

Maybe #TheLastOfUS is more the kind of apocalypse/fall of society pandemic film is more your style?

After watching #HimeshPatel in #StationEleven, I watched him in the great film #Yesterday. What a singer he is!

Finally managed to watch #StationEleven, and it is as good as everyone said two years ago 🥰 . Will read the book next. It's scheduled to arrive through #Libby next week.

So I finished #stationeleven on @watch_UNEXT@twitter.com, and luckily watching the last episode 1st by accident didn’t ruin it for me. I really liked the series! Highly recommended!

Too much post-apocalyptic media is just a stage for the creators’ gratuitous sense of sadism

#StationEleven is doing something a lot more humanist, even as its stakes are so high. It pulls no punches, but its creative intentions are not abusive.

Anyway, I say it’s worth the time.

So, @watch_UNEXT@twitter.com has #stationeleven, which I heard was great, so I downloaded the whole season on my iPad and watched what I thought was the 1st episode, but it turned out to the 10th episode... I was thoroughly confused. I hope it doesn't ruin the series for me.
