During final wks till graduation, we're starting the process of finding employment, paying fees for exam prep, exams, license fees, & begining the long haul of getting the 3000 supervised hrs in no < 2 yrs. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Pacing ourselves, keeping our thoughts hopeful & encouraging & advocating for our own happiness & peace of mind. Comparison is the thief of joy. Fist bumps to everyone in this home stretch!!!

I'm also exmormon and I have a trans nibling. I'm so heartbroken for the many queer youth in devout homes who bring shame, fear, isolation and increased harm to their mental health in the name of faith. I hope this family's story helps others stay curious, use critical thinking and choose relationships and love over orthodoxy.

There was another Rustacean in the conversation, who was very interested and tried to answer the question. They in turn asked a question back, which got me thinking, because I couldn't come up with the answer right away.

In the end, we both learned something new that day.

Every time you cut people off, you will miss an opportunity to learn something new. Don't be that person. Stay curiuos - stay open minded!
