I baked a Christmas Stollen for the first time in 10+ years, and took it to our holiday party at work. Turned out better than I thought, and received a lot of compliments. In Germany we have stollen typically in the winter time. Kind of like a fruitcake, but more moist and eaten with butter. Mine didn’t have cranberries, cherries and raisins. I only used raisins and added a baked in filling of homemade marzipan. Mouthwatering example below.

I nervously prepared #brie #Cheese on #Stollen for German guests last night. It was gently toasted, although that's not clear in the picture. That really brings out the sweet flavour

They were unprepared, one refused to try any, but everyone else loved it and I just got a quick pic before it all disappeared.

Stollen with cheddar was not so good a fit.
