I’m watching #Stonehouse on #BritBox. Matthew Macfadyen plays a shameless British MP who tried to fake his own death in the 1970s to escape legal and money issues. Unfortunately for Labor PM Harold Wilson, Stonehouse represented his one-vote majority. Gotta think Kevin McCarthy could identify.

Definitely add @Britbox_CA's #Stonehouse to your watchlist. Macfadyen's performance is note-perfect and I'm still baffled as to why this is the first time I've heard about this unbelievable story.

Have just seen #Stonehouse. I wonder who was the bigger fool, John Stonehouse or the intelligence service that recruited him as a spy? Altogether what a preposterous man.

#Stonehouse was scum, but also, the version of his speech to parliament in the fictional show was spot on.

The UKs politics are fundamentally built on corruption and the most unprincipled individuals.

Parliament is broken and needs to go.

The problem with #Stonehouse is that he is being played by Matthew McFadden. Who I have learned to trust from Ripper Street. Even when he was being devious.

But Stonehouse was a complete loser, utterly unscrupulous, criminal and treacherous. So I am struggling to reconcile these.

Not to mention that Keeley Hawes, who I want to like but don't entirely trust, who is being upstanding and honourable.
