The reviewer assumes that #DungeonWorld helped #ApocalypseWorld / #PbtA to break through. #DW was already too #DnD for me back then, we enjoyed #tremlus more. As well, #FantasyWorld, another #Fantasy #PbtA #ttrpg should also follow the #DnD - tradition, but offer its own, interesting approaches. Group themes (quests vs coins etc.) , more deadly/consequential battles I find interesting, maybe another good source of ideas. #Stonetop remains my favourite #PbtA #fantasy game.

My most anticipated #ttrpg project right now (besides the #Pendragon #Starterset by @Chaosium) is #Stonetop, a #pbta #fantasy variant.
I like the previews a lot, the world is VERY inspiring, reminds me of #Runequest / #Glorantha. #dungeonworld didn't convince me, back then. I'm just not into #DnD tropes. The system variant of #Stonetop is also very thematic, and also right up my alley!

Hopefully,. #Stonetop will be successful when it will be released.

The #stonetop system I'm currently running defines 500-1500 as town territory. And I do like the idea of 1000 as an average target.

1. #Cairn really like it's approach and being similar rules wise to Mausritter. I chose OSE instead because my players liked my pitch for it more but want to run it when I get the chance

2. #Stonetop I backed this and got the preview material waiting for it to finish really like the community centric and pre medieval focus of the setting

3. #Microscope it's a less traditional rpg where you build the history of a world together with mechanics to guide you

#Symbaroum is my favourite #DarkFantasy setting in recent years! I helped to make the English version possible. The original system is rather "swingy". @Morgunin can probably say more say about the #DnD 5e version. He made me interested in this super beautiful and well organised variant. I don't play #dnd5e and clones... Enjoy.

@Lampshade I finished up a pathfinder 2e campaign in March and then went into Stonetop. Stonetop is so good. It's not fully released yet (it's 95% complete) but the rules are light and flexible (pbta), the GM advise is expansive and detailed. the setting is iron-age fantasy but unique from your typical lotr style. The setting book has campaign hooks and season-based descriptions.

I love it so much.

@arzi That's a really cool video. I was wondering where it was going as an alternative but when Carta Marina came on screen is kind of blew me away.

Personally I am a fan of Stonetop which does some of this exact thing but adds additional descriptions for these locations.

Mich begeistert das „Kulturrollenspiel“, es geht um eine Gesellschaft (#Stonetop) und den Bezug zu ihr. Monster, Dungeons und magische Gegenstände, die teilweise supergeil sind, werden in dieser krassen Sandbox mit Liebe in einen gewissen Kontext gesetzt. Respekt.

@orangepeelbeef Stonetop! If you ever wanted to run Dungeon World but with a more modern update, Stonetop is the way to go.

Lots of really great GM help in the material too, plot hooks for locations, ways to describe different seasons.

It's about living in a community at the edge of civilization and helping to make it thrive over seasons and years of in world play.

@kastark I'm playing Stonetop which is a PbtA game about building a community on the edges of civilization.

There is a lot of opportunity to bring in Family and towns folk, but they serve more as Narrative Foils and Vulnerability? They are the reason for your characters actions more often than not. I'm inclined to call them Emotional Anchors to the campaign.
