Waking up to a dark dreary rainy morning in Pittsburgh and can't believe 2 Sundays ago in #Kolkata got my sister and headed out by dawn and grabbed some nihari for breakfast before they ran out by 6:30 am. All her life in Kolkata and she'd never been there.

Not exactly #StreetFood but no place to sit down so it was take out, and a chance for some #StreetPhotography

That puffed rice vendor from my last toot - 10 mins walk from my Mom's home in #Kolkata - he carries puffed rice (mudi) from different varieties of rice (at least 4), besides moa (a sweet made with jaggery and flattened rice) and some other treats.

I'm reposting these pics of the #Jilipi maker
on BT road. These pics turned out as nice as that hot fresh jilipi I ate was delectable (even if I say so myself)

After watching him make so many , I asked if I could have a fresh hot one just out of the syrup and I received one (with much thanks!) #grateful​

Had a conversation with a close friend of mine about using propane tanks, he said there was a minimum distance to place a propane tank in the US. I understand it's for safety reason.

Meanwhile in my country, we don't have such regulation. It is the cheapest people can afford, it is part of their livelihood. Clearly safety comes second here😟
