Well, Strep A hasn't gone away in the UK but it's a far better picture than it was over December. Cases closer to where we'd expect. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/ukhsa-update-on-scarlet-fever-and-invasive-group-a-strep-1 #StrepA #PublicHealth #InfectiousDisease

Indeed, we should have learnt something from the #pandemic. #facemasks reduce the spread, if you are infected and need to go somewhere. #COVID19 #flu #RSV #RSVirus #StrepA #scarletfever #Streptococcus

“#StrepA resistance to antibiotics is currently not a public health concern, but this does not mean that resistance will not emerge in the future, particularly if minor infections are improperly managed”

It’s clear that MSM are not going to publish balanced articles on the cause of #StrepA infections. Making claims without proof that lockdowns caused these infections is speculation. There is good solid research on T cells being damaged from #Covid that is not getting a mention.
More #Streptococcus/ #StrepA/ #scarletfever cases in the UK.

The News Release to our most recent analysis. We have looked at the circulation of other pathogens during the #COVID19 #pandemic. Non vaccine-preventable diseases (e.g. #StrepA) rebound very quickly while vaccine-preventable diseases (e.g. #Measles) seem to remain suppressed for a longer time. Moreover, the seasonal transmission patterns of many infectious diseases are interrupted.

My 7 year old son has #fever, #cough & lethargy...took him to #GP & was prescribed #amoxicillan for a chest infection & as he has some #ScarletFever & #StrepA symptoms.
I had to then ring around to see if any local pharmacies had any amoxicillan left as there is such a shortage.
A mum was crying in there as she couldn't get the medicine she needed for her penicillin allergic sick child.
GP said it's the worst she has seen the #NHS in 19 years including during covid. #ToryCriminals #SaveOurNHS

#strepA my 5year old son, currently with a fever over 39°and symptoms. GP practice has no appt.s. Told to call 111, they were very good. Informed GP would call back within 30mins and then send an ambulance to check him...an hour and a half later, still waiting.
Now in limbo, waiting for a call-back. Do we risk going to the Urgent Care Centre, waiting for probably 4hrs, or go to A&E, dramatic. Or do we keep waiting for the call and hope it comes soon? #NHS is struggling everywhere.

What a terrific, and extremely sobering article. It is hugely upsetting to see how mainstream the "immunity debt" idea and blaming lockdown have have become. I just don't understand why people are so against simple, cheap mitigation in schools - it would benefit everyone.
I'm #CEV, and am lucky that my daughter's left school and I'm no longer teaching. So sad to see vulnerable families suffering.
ps - Karam, #hashtags would help amplify this.

With our Tory government bringing back proud Victorian diseases like diptheria and scarlet fever (caused by #StrepA), I wonder what else we'll see returning to Brexit Britain? Scrofula? Leprosy? Typhoid? TB? I recommend good leeches, as you can't see a GP.
