♻️ As we transition to a #circular economy, new sectors must offer quality jobs to EU & UK citizens.
Therefore, I voiced concern about the #StrikesBill in today’s 🇬🇧 🇪🇺 #ParliamentaryAssembly.
❌ Undermining labour rights won’t make us fit for the challenges we face.

The government's #StrikesBill means those who legally vote to strike, complying with laws already in existence, can be forced to strike-break. Minister asks us to trust bosses' discretion to be fair/not harsh in how they punish anyone who fails to comply. I won't hold my breath.

'Minimum service levels' will lead to maximum harm – overworked, underpaid staff seeing their rights, conditions & pay packets attacked by a draconian, anti-democratic, increasingly authoritarian Government. This #StrikesBill must fall.
