β»οΈ As we transition to a #circular economy, new sectors must offer quality jobs to EU & UK citizens.
Therefore, I voiced concern about the #StrikesBill in todayβs π¬π§ πͺπΊ #ParliamentaryAssembly.
β Undermining labour rights wonβt make us fit for the challenges we face.

#circular #StrikesBill #ParliamentaryAssembly
The government's #StrikesBill means those who legally vote to strike, complying with laws already in existence, can be forced to strike-break. Minister asks us to trust bosses' discretion to be fair/not harsh in how they punish anyone who fails to comply. I won't hold my breath.

I asked the minister whether the public could use imposed minimum-service levels to sue, for example, Network Rail or NHS England when we can't get adequate services on non strike days? #StrikesBill

I don't like the opposition constantly quoting international human rights, BUT eventually I had to speak against the ridiculous #StrikesBill... (1/2)

'Minimum service levels' will lead to maximum harm β overworked, underpaid staff seeing their rights, conditions & pay packets attacked by a draconian, anti-democratic, increasingly authoritarian Government. This #StrikesBill must fall.
