#Russia says it has prevented two #US #bombers from "violating" the Russian state border over the #Baltic Sea by sending two #FighterJets. The Defense Ministry in Moscow said it had dispatched #Su27 and #Su35 aircraft and "identified air targets as two US Air Force B-1B strategic bombers."

"The violation of the state border was prevented," the ministry said. After mission, the Russian fighter planes "returned safely to their air base".

According to a statement by Britain's Royal Air Force, #British and #German fighter jets intercepted a #Russian plane flying near #Estonian airspace on Friday. It was the second such event this week. The two #Typhoon jets intercepted "a Russian #Tu134 passenger jet, known by the #NATO designation Crusty, escorted by two Sukhoi #Su27 Flanker fighter jets and an #AN12 Cub military transport aircraft," according to #RAF.
