An important report by @anneapplebaum shows how the #war on #democracy is fueled by #disinformation as well as kinetic weapons, often mixing lies with true facts, to obscure the difference, to divide and conquer.
Even the U.S., practically divided in half politically on a knife's edge, is susceptible to this Russian-developed tactic. Anne Applebaum's story is illustrated first by the typhoon that did real damage to the Kansai Airport and Osaka, including to our roof, but which was exploited by Chinese #subversion to sow division and confusion in otherwise-independent Taiwan.
The digital ministry of Taiwan has succeeded in limiting the spread of conspiracy theories, anti-vax, and anti-democratic cults, so they are an inspiration to us all, like #Ukraine.
