For those interested in a well built, lightweight Debian based disto geared towards running window managers (wm), not Desktop Environments, you may find LiliDog of interest. I use LiliDog (running sid, rolling unstable Debian). I use it with the following in a single-user space: i3wm, bspwm, openbox, hlwm, and dwm.

If you are shopping around for a Tiling Window Manager to use of your #Linux Distro, I heartily recommend i3wm. The documentation is excellent, software stability is exceptional, it runs using fewer lines of code than anything I've tried, that isn't #dwm from #Suckless ...

It is the year of the #Suckless desktop for me. I never went a whole year on #DWM, but it is weird as I get older, the more I want Suckless software... Just like I hope Mastodon never actually gets big, I hope Linux never gets big for home users......

So I just realized that all of my #suckless software that I've modifies can literally be copies over to any computer and that computer will be an exact replica of my little netbook.

That is called portability. Also, if I make sure to use #bash on every computer, then I can just copy over my scripts too... how cool is that?

@lightone well, it depends. Some things are there. They actually have a lot there. But one problem is that I use mainly #suckless software, so I don't use a lot of things. You can enable the community repo.

What software would you say that you really want?

#DWM and #Suckless software on my #Slackware machine. A match made in my own version of heaven. Also, #st is still my favorite terminal emulator, regardless of which OS I'm on.

What I really want to know is when the #Suckless team will develop their own browser engine? Compiling WebKit2gtk sucks.

Okay. It is a wild success! #sxmo is now on my #pinephone! Aaaaand, it works much better than the others I have tried. Much snappier and updating things is a breeze!

I now have a relatively #suckless #pinephone! Yay!

These two projects are awesome!

Upgrade is over... Slackware upgrade burned me again. My one true love of the distro is dissipating. So now I will try #Alpine + #Suckless software.

Since switching to #Suckless software, I have spent a total of perhaps 3 hours modifying my #Slackware system. Now I get on my laptop and just get things down.

I have achieved #Slack with this experiment.
