“If stargazing was an attempt to read the writing of the gods, poetry appears to have been an attempt to communicate with the divine. ’s most recent translator, Sophus Helle, describes how poetry attempted “to change the world, by invoking the gods and enlisting their help.’”

emotional () is written as Gi or Ge in Akkadian and Sumerian. The far east has an identical concept which in the Chinese language is transliterated as Qi or Ch'i (Wade-Giles), in Japanese as Ki, and in Korean as Gi again. This commonality suggests Qi goes back to the hunter/gatherer/fisher humans who migrated along the coastlines. In contrast emotional energy in Indo-European language seems to have been called "wer" from which English gets the word "work."

In civilization Gi is what is generated by the motion class of powers and is analogous to wind, breath, and spirit. It is the divine power which moves and assembles things as opposed to the power which grows of things. Akkadian “Gi” is found in the English word “energy” via Greek energeia and late Latin energia.

Photos below: Gi showing wind over gate over feather. Minoan Gi (Linear A) is an assembly of threads.

Working on a new Sumerian lexicon to enable translations up to the Scholar's standard. Previous generations have done a great job working backward from Assyrian era Akkadian to provide some basic word definitions but those definitions are not yet tight enough to do a proper translation. Hence a lot of ancient alien claims.

So I am restarting at the beginning with the earliest texts having images to cross-check the translations. I thought this one was interesting equating "mouths" to "locusts." It reads: "Kingdoms are toppled by mouths (locusts) | The grain-field pair." More at: druidwisdom.org/sumerian-archa

Curled up on the couch with a blanket on a rare snowy day in the PNW, listening to and reading erotic poetry. Not too shabby!
