Were you at the #Sundays4Safety demo at the Skerritt Roundabout in February? If you were, the man who was injured at that location was in touch. He is recovering well and is keen to get in touch with those who attended. Message me your email if you were there! 😍🤩
A #Sundays4Safety announcement - due to unforeseen circumstances, I have to step away from organising demos for a while. Galling, as there have been so many walkers and bikers killed and injured this year.
If anyone is organising and wants to borrow signs, the ghost bikes or leaflets, please get in touch.
A huge thank you is in order to the core group of heroes who turned up week after week.
This is a pause. We need safer streets for people who wheel, walk and cycle. It shouldn't be so hard.
Spot the difference!

No traffic issues in #Galway on this mid-term break morning, not even on the infamous Bóthar na dTreabh - it's almost as if the traffic problems could be solved if school children were able to bus or bike to school.

Anyone on for coming to the Ardilaun Hotel at about 14.40 tomorrow? Galway City Council's monthly meeting is happening there at 15.00. Some lovely #Sundays4Safety peeps are going along to show them that the safety, access and comfort of people who wheel, walk and cycle matters. Come along! Ring some bells! Please boost! 🤩
Lovely piece from Galway Bay FM who came out to the Flash Protest at the Skerritt Roundabout today! #Sundays4Safety
Big crowd out at #Sundays4Safety at the Skerritt Roundabout this morning. The reception was so POSITIVE. Unbelievable support from passers-by and motorists. Heaps of new faces. All wanting to send solidarity and support to the man who was injured at this spot a fortnight ago. All demanding better, safer roads for Galway. We deserve better from our council
Standing with the #Sundays4Safety @Fhmediastuff crowd protesting lack of safe roads in Galway. We need immediate action on pedestrianisation, cycling, and active travel infrastructure in Galway.

"If you talk to some people who are decision makers in our city...you would think that you are asking for the sun, moon and stars, when you are just asking for some manner of safe passage from A to B" - @Fhmediastuff

#Sundays4Safety is happening this Sunday at Skerritt Roundabout - the site of a horrible collision. This is a roundabout beside a University, with NO pedestrian crossings. And it's not unique in Galway.
Please JOIN us. Demand better for people who wheel, walk and cycle.

We need to start calling this out. A roundabout beside a university with NO PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS? How? And then people on bikes mixing with HGVs merging from multiple lanes of traffic😱. Join us to DEMAND BETTER for people who wheel walk and cycle. #Sundays4Safety @GalwayCityCo@twitter.com

It’s nearly a year since councillors rejected a proposal, shot down a compromise, and promised an alternative plan.
Eco Eye asks, “Whatever happened to the temporary Salthill cycleway?”

#EcoEye on RTÉ 1 this evening at 8pm is taking a look at how we need to transform our transport systems over the coming decades.
It includes interviews with two exceptional activists in #Galway - @Fhmediastuff of #Sundays4Safety and @gwanloveen of #GalwayCycling

This should be a Salthill Cycleway. It's terrible for the poor drivers sitting in traffic and dangerous for those of us on bikes. But Galway City Council - full of "keen cycling advocates" 👀👀 backed #nochange last year. Not even a trial. 😃🤯 #Sundays4Safety
#Sundays4Safety peeps, my phone is dead. I will see you in the pub. Apologies in advance for any inconvenience related to me being contactable...
Looking forward to meeting some of the #Sundays4Safety crew INDOORS, in the WARMTH tomorrow for an early evening chat 🤩
Message if you want to come along. Strategising for safer, more accessible streets for people who wheel, walk and cycle😇❤️
📣A #Sundays4Safety announcement. We are opting to meet early on Sunday evening to strategise for the next while. The awful accident this week is the latest in a series of tragedies. We need our representatives to WAKE UP and DEMAND A SAFETY FIRST APPROACH. Message me if you'd like to join ❤💪
