I optimistically ordered ear-loop KN95 masks, to wear while getting a haircut.

I then got email from a different company I bought N95 masks from. Subject "All of China is getting covid". Warns about interruptions in PPE supply chains, so stock up now or buy their US-made masks.

I knew I might have to cancel that haircut. My "new normal" is that I have to be ready to cancel any plan & throw away any tickets. Avoid the sunk cost fallacy

You don’t keep going with something because you have already sunk so many costs. You keep going because you underestimate the remaining costs and think it‘s a good deal. In reality you just keep bashing your head against the wall.
