Superman & Lois 3x13: "What Kills You Only Makes You Stronger": If this had been the series finale, it would have been infuriating. As it is, it sets up one very interesting fourth season premiere. As usual, the best bits are the family-oriented scenes, which I will miss when many of these characters are gone next season. The lack of a solid ending doesn't take away from the fact that this was by far the best season of the series. #supermanandlois
Superman & Lois 3x11: "Complications": The development I didn't like from the previous episode was dealt with promptly, which I appreciated (even if it was heartbreaking). With the season drawing to a close, there are some great resolutions that take place throughout the episode. I loved some of the character work towards the end. This has been a hard but exceptional season. #supermanandlois
Superman & Lois 3x10: "Collision Course": On the one hand, I like that some of the subplots are coming to a head. I've often favored the family-oriented material and that continues to be a strength of the series. On the other hand, there is a development in the episode that annoys me, because it raises all sorts of ethical questions that I'm sure they won't address. Just the existence of a certain thing is highly provocative. #supermanandlois
Superman & Lois 3x09: " The Dress": For me, as much as this might advance the Mannheim storyline a bit, it's all about Clark and Lois. They really dig into Lois' emotions around her current health status and the changes that will be coming post-surgery, and it's difficult to watch. Especially so if there is any investment in these characters. But it all comes across as authentic and heartfelt. #supermanandlois
Superman & Lois 3x07: "Forever and Always": I'm a bit more favorable to how plot and character arcs are intertwining after this episode, though I still think some things didn't need to overlap so much. It's also worth noting, particularly in this episode, that the writers aren't just exploring the effects of cancer on a family well. They are also delving into the effects of divorce on everyone in a family. It's hard to watch but realistic. #supermanandlois
Superman & Lois 3x06: "Of Sound Mind": I really like how they are not holding back with the severity of Lois' situation or Clark's struggle to come to terms with it. And I still really like all the family-oriented plot and character threads. That might be why I sighed in annoyance at the end of this episode. They make a choice that, while I understand from a "comic book" perspective, strikes me as unnecessary. I liked certain things to be separate. #supermanandlois
Superman & Lois 3x05: "Head On": As usual, I enjoy the family elements of the series more than whatever supervillain stuff might be happening, so this was a solid episode for me. I'm invested in what they have in mind for Lois' character this season. It's interesting to see Clark navigate a situation in which he is powerless and must accept that. I suspect this will be the final season for the series, so I'm glad it continues to be high quality. #supermanandlois
Superman & Lois 3x04: "Too Close to Home": It had to be difficult to be Clark in this episode. He has to tred such a fine line when protecting his family. Similarly, we see John Henry struggle with trying to protect his family against this season's apparent foe. This episode was mostly devoted to carrying forward a number of character subplots, but I find them involving to watch, so I'm fine with that. #supermanandlois
Superman & Lois 3x03: "In Cold Blood": Right now, the focus of the show is largely Lois and her medical situation with some superheroics happening more or less in the background, and I see absolutely no issue with that. Family has always been at the center of the series, after all. I have a feeling that the typical comic book plot elements will continue on their own time, given that there is plenty of plot building. #supermanandlois
Superman & Lois 3x02: "Uncontrollable Forces": I had a feeling that this was where they were going with Lois. On the one hand, it's good to increase awareness and give Lois her own ordeal to overcome. On the other hand, I hope it is handled well. It's initially off to a rough start because they go with the well-worn plot point of someone hiding a diagnosis, but I feel like they eventually took a better path. The rest of the episode is a bit (understandably) overshadowed. #supermanandlois
Superman & Lois 3x01: "Closer": It's going to take a bit of time to get used to the new Jonathan, though I thought they did a fair job of acting like nothing had changed. I don't really know what they might be setting up in terms of the superhero side of things, but I found the Smallville subplots to be the most compelling. This show has always done such a nice job of blending all its elements together. #supermanandlois
