Perkins Coie Has Been Doing Politically Targeted Spying of Democrat's Political Opponents Since 2012 - Facilitated By None Other Than The FBI

215) The #SussmannTrial focused on the role of “opposition research” in attempting to manipulate the media and exposed a sustained pattern of FBI bungling that — if it wasn’t contrived — could be the most frightening aspect of the whole affair.
The FBI investigated the "Alfa allegations" and decided they were unfounded within one day in Sep 2016. But somehow, someway, for some reason, this investigation lived on until Jan 2017 and no one could answer why. Conflation? A typo? The mystery remains.
214) So what’s next for #Durham’s team? Over two weeks of testimony, the #SussmannTrial rehashed some of the bitter controversies from the Donald Trump-Hillary Clinton presidential contest.
During the 10 days of proceedings, prosecutors took aim beyond Sussmann to argue he was part of a “joint venture” by the Clinton campaign, Perkins Coie attorney Marc Elias, Neustar tech exec Rodney Joffe to orchestrate an “October Surprise” leading up to the 2016 election. https://twitter.com/JFHaughey58/status/1531688518220664834
213) "Despite being falsely accused, I believe that justice ultimately prevailed in my case," Sussmann said. #SussmannTrial.
This was a complicated trial over a simple charge: Did he lie? Will there be a #SussmannAppeal?

208) Randomly cherrypicking through these documents, also being viewed by the jury as it ponders a verdict Tuesday in the #SussmannTrial … here’s the February 2015 contract where Roland Joffe hires Sussmann at $795 an hour. (Or $79.50 every six minutes).

200) US District Judge Christopher Cooper has scheduled closing arguments to begin at 9 am. He asked attorneys to limit final orations to one hour and 40 minutes each — no more than 100 minutes. https://twitter.com/JFHaughey58/status/1530169338724065280
198) #SussmannTrial Day 10: Barricades have been placed before the main entry of the E. Barnett Perryman Courthouse in Washington DC where former #Clinton attorney Michael Sussmann’s trial for allegedly lying to the FBI about concocted #Trump-Russia links presumably concludes Friday.

157) The prosecution Tuesday night filed two motions seeking to thwart the defense's anticipated request to enter all of Sussmann's testimony before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence on Dec.18, 2017.
"Last evening the defense advised government counsel it intends to seek admission of the entirety of the defendant’s Congressional testimony under the so-called 'rule of completeness.'
156) Day 8 of the #SussmannTrial is set to begin at the E. Barnett Perryman US District Courthouse in Washington, DC. shortly with the prosecution set to sum up its case with its 17th witness, #Durham paralegal Kori Arsenault.
Former DNC/Clinton campaign attorney Michael Sussmann is on trial for allegedly lying to the FBI when he delivered data, documents purporting a secret server channel between the Trump Organization and Kremlin-linked Alfa Bank. https://twitter.com/JFHaughey58/status/1529445263886192643
154) Upon hearing of the prosecution's plan to parade 100 exhibits through his courtroom, Cooper said he was “somewhat frustrated” they “didn’t address this” earlier. Both set of attorneys agreed to work tonight on trimming them back.
When the defense makes its case beginning Thursday morning the latest, Berkowitz said he will call former New York Times writer Eric Licthblau, FBI agent Tom Grasso, Tasha Gauhar, and "some character witnesses."

153) On redirect, prosecutor Jonathon Algor asked Novick what he was told would happen to the information they compiled. He said: “It was to go to an attorney.”
Cooper has called it a day. Prosecution closes case Wednesday with Durham paralegal Kori Arsenault serving as summary witness. Algor said testimony will be “a demonstration” of “100 exhibits, one-after-another.” That was greeted by gasps, a Berkowitz objection
https://twitter.com/JFHaughey58/status/1529189959172857859
152) During cross-examine, Berkowitz said Novick has told investigators that he did not get along with Joffe, who was pressuring him to better his performance in leading BitVoyant. On Sept. 12, 2021, he told investigators there was a "bit of friction" between them.
Novick said he didn’t recall saying that. “You are asking me about a word and I cannot tell you if I used that word. I had a difficult relationship with Rodney," he said. https://twitter.com/JFHaughey58/status/1529186463635603459
150) It was “extremely uncommon ... this was a group, a group of individuals, the whole thing felt to me like opposition research,” Novick said. “It made me feel very uncomfortable.”
Novick“immediately” contacted Victor Oppleman, a friend also on the BitVoyant board and engaged with Joffe in other companies, including Littoral Ventures, which provided the PDF. “He was also uncomfortable” but they “reluctantly moved forward with tasking.” https://twitter.com/JFHaughey58/status/1529181615351635971
142) Berkowitz: “That is a serious allegation … that you intentionally withheld information that could help prove an individual’s innocence … a serious allegation. You have denied it. Heide: The case is still pending.
Before proceedings began Monday, Cooper and attorneys discussed upcoming testimony from a witness engaged in “an unadjudicated matter.” Berkowitz expressed concern that the witness could be testifying to “curry favor with the government.”
https://twitter.com/JFHaughey58/status/1529137717845573637
141) Heide is at least the seventh witness who was, or still is, employed by the FBI to testify in the case and only the two cyber analysts seem to remember much unless reading from notes taken during meetings they don't recall.
Lead defense attorney Sean Berkowitz is cross-examining Heide, who is a subject of a DOJ probe for allegedly withholding exculpatory information in a FISA court proceeding related to #CrossfireHurricane.

138) Prosecutor Brittain Shaw ends her examination of Anderson in less than 10 minutes. Like FBI agent Bill Priestap Monday, she doesn't recall specifics and is testifying on notes taken during meetings she cannot recall.
Anderson is on the stand for less than a half-hour -- a #SussmannTrial record for brevity -- and she didn't recall much. Now FBI agent Curtis Heide takes the stand. He was a lead agent in FBI Chicago field office in 2016.
134) Sands said interviewing Dagon was "the next logical investigatory step I was planning to take." She could not recall specifics but said she was "either told not to or to focus on the logs" in the thumb drives.
Brittain Shaw begins to redirect after Cooper asks if everyone is up for another 15-20 minutes of testimony. But it only lasts minutes. Shaw asks Sands if she would have been interested to know the data was funded by the Clinton campaign. She said, well, yes.
133) Sands said she didn't know there was a 'close hold' on revealing the source of the data and still doesn't know who "ordered" the investigation other than it came from “someplace in headquarters land …”
The FBI Chicago team figured out that David Dagon of the Georgia Institute of Technology was the author of one of the white papers. The team never interviewed him, she said.
https://twitter.com/JFHaughey58/status/1528839360723951621
132) True, she said, but she did not know that until learning the allegations were forwarded by Baker "from an anonymous third party."
Had she known the origin of the claims was an FBI 'Confidential Human Source' (CHS), Sands -- like Gaynor -- said she "would absolutely want to speak to the handlers .. it would be very usual for the CHS to bypass the handlers. It speaks to credibility, motive."
https://twitter.com/JFHaughey58/status/1528837046185369601
127) Blur of names, dates, emails, phone conversations, all bouncing back-and-forth between September 2016 to May 2022 as Gaynor is questioned about what he said to who when. Heads are nodding, eyelids drooping. Like wading through syrup.
Gaynor is off the stand -- more on his testimony coming. Prosecutor Brittain Shaw is preparing to examine former FBI agent Allison Sands, who was among Chicago field agents who determined Sussmann's allegations were unsubstantiated.
