Eisbär Nummer 8 haben wir auf dem Packeis entdeckt. So richtig nah ans Schiff ist er nicht gekommen, aber der Bär war stundenlang in der Nähe und wir konnten ganz in Ruhe beobachten und fotografieren!

Eisbär Nummer 6. Stolze Mutter von 2 Bärenkindern. Die kleine Familie haben wir im Wasser entdeckt und konnten sie aus dem Zodiac beobachten. Dabei wurde uns schnell klar warum Eisbären zu den Meeressäugern gezählt werden!

Eisbären Nummer 4 und 5. Zwei Jungtiere aus dem letzten Jahr. Mama Eisbär (Nummer 6) ist ganz in der Nähe, Bär Nummer 3 ebenfalls. Die 4 schienen sich zu kennen, Nummer 3 war keine Gefahr für die kleine Familie.

Polarfüchse haben wir während der Schiffstour nicht gefunden. In Longyearbyen habe ich mir dann eine Tour mit einem Guide gegönnt und so bin ich doch noch zu meinen Polarfüchsen gekommen! Das hier ist das Weibchen der kleinen Familie, unschwer am Sendehalsband zu erkennen (hier sieht man nur die Antenne)

Eisbär Nummer 3
Hier haben wir uns lange aufgehalten um diesen nicht sehr aktiven Eisbären zu beobachten, und wurden mit weiteren Eisbärensichtungen belohnt. An diesem Tag haben wir in der direkten Umgebung 5 Bären beobachtet!

Für den #meermittwoch und den #waterfallwednesday ein beeindruckender Wasserfall am Bråsvellbreen.
Im Sommer schmilzt das Eis an der Oberfläche der drittgrößte Eiskappe der Welt und das Wasser ergießt sich in beeindruckenden Wasserfällen ins Meer.

Eisbär Nummer 2 meiner Spitzbergenreise. Dieses Männchen war ganz in der Nähe „meines“ Bären. Grund war ein ziemlich alter Walkadaver. Die Eisbären sind da nicht wählerisch und der wohlgenährte Zustand beider Tiere ist wohl auf diesen Kadaver zurückzuführen.
