My aunt in Nottinghamshire sent me a packet of seeds in and kept one. We planted on the same day, 3rd October. On the left my first flower 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 , out fully yesterday. On the right her tripod full of blooms 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 also pictured yesterday. #LatitudeMatters #SweetPeas #FamilyConnection

Just picked some Sweetpeas and Dahlia’s from my garden… in November. Can’t remember ever having them this late before, a frost had usually got them by now. It’s been such a mild Autumn in the UK. Great for our heating bills but not for the planet. #gardening #globalwarming #SweetPeas #dahlias

I fail at a lot of things in the garden, but I have sweet peas figured out. These ones come back every year on their own - that’s the trick! - and I just have to pick them every day or so to ensure that they keep flowering. This is last night’s bouquet.

A strange thing has happened: the sweet pea seeds I saved in the fall seem to have sprouted all on their own. (And then died, I guess.) I left them on indoor shelves, all spread out, which is what I’ve been doing with saved seeds for years. What the heck?
