The Hitmen - “Corridors of Power” (1981)

This was a Sydney band that went through a few incarnations in their early years, with their first LP released in 1981. They never achieved the commercial success they pursued, but they played often, opening for bands like Steppenwolf.

This song is my favorite. It’s an interesting sound, somewhere between straight rock, power pop, and punk with some really cool guitar riffs.

Das war jetzt mal ein richtig nettes #Essen mit der #Cousine meiner Frau und ihrer Tochter aus #Sydney bei uns. Interessant, dass #australia wenig Veränderungen durch die #Energiekrise mitbekommt. Die sind deutlich weniger von Importen abhängig, wie ich immer gedacht habe. #Lebensmittel sind wesentlich lokaler als bei uns. #Gas und #Strom ebenfalls. #Auswandern ?

@seb many moons ago when I was there. I went down to Bondi and walked the trail all the way from north to south. It was glorious taking in all the different beach goers l, their activities and the weather was excellent. Highly recommend. Give yourself a couple of hours or longer to fully enjoy it.

#Davidson High School principal David Rule said there had been significant changes since students in years 7 to 10 were banned from using mobile phones at #school.

“#Classrooms have effectively become #phone_free and this has allowed staff to #focus on #educating students,” he said in a school newsletter. “Finally, in eight weeks of the policy, there has been a 90 #per_cent #reduction in #behavioural issues related to phones...”

“The pouch also allowed our staff to use them when necessary as an #explicit_teaching #tool for a particular lesson,” he said.
