I officially survived my first set of disk failures in my #SynologyNas.

I was able to replace disks without any data loss.

Feels good to pay for insurance and then it actually comes through for you when things actually go wrong.

PSA: If you don't have one, get a backup strategy. I hear 3 is the magic number. I have data on my Nas, on another extenal drive, and in the cloud (encrypted).

Was doing some house chores when my #SynologyNas started beeping.

It turns out, my 3 year old daughter climbed up a book case and started pulling out hard drives. Two of my drives are now in bad states.

On the plus side:
- Everything is backed up elsewhere, so I *should* be able to recover.
- I have a long weekend where I can put my recovery process to the test.
- I have an excuse to buy a new drive.
- I have my own 3 year old #ChaosMonkey.

So I'm trying profile validation by placing a link, like the example in the article https://docs.joinmastodon.org/user/profile/ on my Google Sites website. Does not work.

Any ideas? Open to anything. Maybe use the Synology NAS landing page for it?
