An alle #Sysadmin und #Developer: Wie handhabt ihr euer persönliches #KnowledgeManagement? Nutzt ihr entsprechende Desktop-Programme wie Joplin, Obsidian? Oder ein Wiki?
Ich frage, da ich meinen Anwendungsfall nicht vernünftig abdecken kann. Neben der üblichen Notizen-Kritzelei würde ich gerne auch Webseiten archivieren und direkt in das Tool meiner Wahl (Joplin) darstell- und durchsuchbar integrieren. 1/2

@beforewisdom personally, I do like #nano for being just an editor one can use and not have to learn archaic commands.

#ne adds an even nicer #TUI to it at the cost of needing #ncurses,.

I mean a lot of people can get quite speedy on #vim and espechally #neovim, like @fuchsiii, but since I'm not a #FrontendDev but #Linux #Sysadmin, I do follow "#ConfigurationByException" as I think default configs are done for a reason...

@JustinLachance as #IT #Sysadmin I am contractually obligated to stay up to date and my job literally is to be the #BenevolentDictator in terms of #tech and what #TechStack is being used.

I forcibly migrate #TechIlliterates to @ubuntu #UbuntuLTS because I don't get paid enough to deal with shit like #Windows.

And those that need some proprietary #CCSS get a machine with #macOS or a #VNC / #RDP session to a #MacMini or #MacPro that has been rackmounted.

Need some #fedora #sysadmin expertise. I am running Fedora 38 with #Gnome 44. It is configured to hide the user list with config files in /𝚎𝚝𝚌/𝚍𝚌𝚘𝚗𝚏. I used the 𝚊𝚞𝚝𝚑𝚜𝚎𝚕𝚎𝚌𝚝 command to enable 𝚏𝚊𝚒𝚕𝚕𝚘𝚌𝚔, and now the user list is visible and I can't revert it. No 𝚍𝚌𝚘𝚗𝚏 config files have been changed and reversing the 𝚊𝚞𝚝𝚑𝚜𝚎𝚕𝚎𝚌𝚝 option does not work. I don't know how to troubleshoot this. Boost for visibility please and thank you. #linux

Hey #SysAdmin folks, now that the dust has settled, what is the wisdom of the crowd on how the recent #RedHat kerfuffle affects #CentOS long-term?

Is #CentOS still considered a ~sane choice for infra work?
Is it something to migrate off of?

I am mostly a Debian person, and I am not following the RedHat/CentOS space too closely. Can anyone help out here?

We are not heroes. We're not the smartest people on the planet. We're not experts on every single thing that crosses our desks.

What we are, is dedicated, willing to work insane hours, willing to give up most holidays, and we often work late. We spend stupid amounts of time fighting spam/scams/etc, without you ever knowing.
