The latest update from the COVID-19 Disease Map consortium is now available as a preprint.
In this work, we show how the map can be used for #modelling of #COVID disease mechanisms and #DrugDiscovery. With new winter waves beginning, there is still much to be done in this field.

A little late, but here's our #introduction:
We are a research institute devoted to biomedical research. Our aim is to understand the molecular basis of health and disease - and to translate findings as quickly as possible into clinical applications. Better prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases are the ultimate goals.

Hello all! #introduction
I am a Professor in the Joint Department of #BiomedicalEngineering at UNC-Chapel Hill and NC State University. My research group works in the broad area of #systemsbiology where we combine computational and experimental work to understand the behavior of these complex systems, with applications to #cancer and other diseases. Much of this work focuses on kinases and the kinome. We also have "spin off" work/interests in the areas of translational #AI (#machinelearning applied to #medicine) as well as #syntheticbiology. I am also involved in trying to link basic science work to the clinic as the Executive Director of FastTraCS, a team of clinicians and engineers working to identify and develop solutions to unmet clinical needs we find in the #healthcare system. Too many interests!
