I've been building something similar also using ultrasound sensors to control a #TB303 clone (Behringer TD3) over #MIDI. This is an earlier version but now it has 5 sensors which let you control pitch, speed/repeat rate, accent, slide (wip) and another spare CC (e.g. resonance).
