Oh yes Priestess, you can listen again. Be cool. One of our very first band conversations (that led to Rule Number 2 of Nasty) was "make them short. If they want more they can press repeat." It's deliberate. We do it with our favourite songs all the time. I think we said it when this review first dropped, we're seriously considering x6 Repeat as an LP title!

First off, Angsty Frame of Mind essentially describes Ted, and it is a beautiful little expression. Tip of the hat.

Second, we keep getting Beastie Boys comparisons. That's both mind-boggling because we can't hear it (but we adore it) in the music but we wish we could. We'd probably go Paul's Boutique rather than Licensed to Ill if we were allowed. Which we are. So we will. Ha!

Some reviews say a lot and we love to read every word and savour them. Sometimes Ted stands on the deck of boat studio and reads the words to the waterbirds and other passing boats. But sometimes there is just that zinger. You want to make into a tee shirt. Chris from @edgarallanpoets has a way with words. He has come up with some immortal three and four word killer lines over the last year. This is our all time favourite. So far.

“The band pushes the boundaries with a total banger bringing the spirit of rock to the listener’s ears with sprinkles of punk all over it. While the song takes on a sarcastic lyrical theme, it was definitely fascinating how the song starts off with a literal drum roll to introduce the catchy guitar riff that backbones the whole song. The drum line in the song is groovy with fills marking every transition in the song. In addition the bass line is simple and melodic, maintaining a rhythm and keeping the listener interested. The verses are driven by a shouting duet from Pete and Ted fuelling the energetic vibe of the song, while the chorus takes a sing-along approach with a full-on punk rock groove. Before the last chorus Pete takes the spotlight with a melodic guitar solo derived from the main riff.”

Total Banger. That isn't a phrase we invented but we wish we had. A lot of credit for that is down the @hugogtmusic who is utterly relentless in his pursuit of Bangerism. He is the High Priest of Bang. Sprinkles of Punk is a phrase we shall use in future PR!
