On this topic, in another interview, Andrea Horwath, former Ontario NDP leader and now the mayor of Hamilton, has stated that the relationship with Ford has been quite positive. @mjmbca Can we stop with the “renters don’t pay property tax” nonsense? Renters most definitely pay property tax…it’s built into their rent. More significantly, they pay property tax at the higher commercial rate, because that’s what their landlords pay, and pass on to them. And I’m speaking as a homeowner…no longer in Toronto (as of last October), but I’ve owned houses in Toronto for over 25 years, so I believe I know of what I speak. #TOpoli
