I've seen a lot of ''industry breaking technology'' just eventually get adopted and become in layman's terms, like at least for animation, a magic pencil. First session of No Country For Old Kobolds done! Comparing to Dungeon Worlds, it's easier to find a common tone, as the register is clearly comical (we play kobolds who keep dying and reproducing). The system is even easier, but perhaps too much gamified? My players wanted missions that wouldn't be focused on their village's needs, something that the rules don't allow.

Way before #CriticalRole, Youtube and even viral videos, there was... Dungeon Majesty.

These were charmingly amateurish videos of several girls playing D&D with the most realistically awkward Dungeon Master ever.

The special effects and animations are cheesy, but the concept of people - Women even! - playing D&D on video was definitely intriguing.

Too bad it took another decade for the concept to gain traction.

Changeling: The Dreaming is a game about being a faerie in a world that doesn't believe in you. That disbelief will seep into your self, and poison you.

It's got many themes wrapped up in that: childhood and it's loss, how getting old sucks, dreams and art, class and anarchism, and a whole bunch more. TBH, its a bit of an incoherent, beautiful mess.

I met my wife playing Changeling, and the first gift I ever bought her was this copy of the 2nd edition.
