@adambienkov @PGBeattie @CloudyMrs It certainly concerns me, and ensures I would not vote Labour [or their equivalent in Northern Ireland]. There was a post earlier, and one of their sponsors for conference is Palantir. Isn’t that something connected to Sunak’s wife? I said before that I think Starmer would go into coalition with Tories if that’s what it takes to have power after the next GE. #TacticalVoting may prevent this.

@vanitarium Labour under #starmer will replace the #ToryCriminalsUnfitToGovern and no one will notice the difference; unless we all pay good attention to #tacticalvoting. The best outcome for everyone in #plagueisland would be a hung parliament.

Ironically the #labour recovery was due in part to #corbyn having to make concessions to #starmer and others in the early autumn of 2019 over the possibility of a second referendum. The #libdems chose to be in denial about this - and were sustained in this by most of the #tacticalvoting websites - #GinaMiller being an honourable exception. Had this not happened #labour would have had twenty or thirty more seats than it did and the #libdems could have had up to a dozen more.

With regard to the #snp you have a good point. At least in the short term their tactics in 2019 paid off. The same cannot be said to apply to the #libdems - who were guilty of "hubristic incompetence" on an industrial scale. Their approach did not gain them seats overall but helped to lose #labour around twenty or thirty. And of course some of those operating #tacticalvoting websites may have been actual "bad faith actors".

In my view the result in December 2019 was rather overdetermined. #labour failed to respond organisationally to June 2017 as well as the #Conservatives did - and that is a charge against #Corbyn and to some extent #momentum .However even if they had - given the games the #libdems and the #snp were playing - not to mention the sheer amount of disinformation #tacticalvoting websites were putting out it would have at best reduced the size of the #conservative majority!

@Stoat I’ve been saying this Labour Party, led by #Starmer would not hesitate to go into coalition with the #ToryCriminalsUnfitToGovern for a while now. Every day I see more evidence that I’m not wrong. #TacticalVoting has never been so important as it will be at the next GE. I also believe the whole fuss over SNP finances has been manufactured to try and destroy the #SNP. It’s gone awfully quiet after they removed Sturgeon….. #IndyScot

@AnthonyFStevens The best hope is that particularly those right wing seats are targeted and lose, as well as others. The biggest fear is that #starmer would agree a coalition with the Tories, such is his desire to govern. #tacticalvoting to prevent such a coalition has never been so important.

@OliverNoble @BobRoyMiller #tacticalvoting and that website will be absolutely vital. This time it should have two functions - remove as many Tories as possible: and bring up the Green/Lib Dem vote so there cannot be a Labour/Tory coalition.

@edross @vicgrinberg yes, exactly… i did a post about this here but as always had the inevitable backlash against #TacticalVoting. But yes, I did think that too

People might choose #TacticalVoting in the election booth but that is only between them and their conscience on election day.

But for now #Labour and #LibDems' is to prove that they are worthy of it and will have the strength to convince and deliver change rather than choosing the easier path of doing nothing

Ok. Have now recovered. The lesson in this is: with very low turnout, very close results, and all three progressive parties standing against each other, #Tories can still win seats. (If those 893 #Green had gone to #Labour, Tories would have lost).

I am a Green Party member but given where we are at, #FPTP and 13 years of Tory ruin, surely #tacticalvoting is key

He’s made it clear he is a Unionist, and this is going to be so bad for Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. @Geri Ooh, that would be good. Are other parties ready? Have they been promoting their budgets, their plans, their legislation to make things better? Or are Labour expecting to walk in and take up where the Tories leave off? #TacticalVoting will be key in each constituency. And that great website needs to be up and running and ready for a GE.
