I like quirky game sub-systems and rich settings and gaming in them. I'm also keen on #gm-advice and post about things that happened at my table. I'm also a fan of #TunnelsAndTrolls even though I don't play it often these days. Old school but not "OSR". All is subject to change.

Talislanta is an RPG that is a nice departure from other fantasy RPGs by not having elves and other typical fantasy races/ ancestries, but instead have their own unique archetypes - over 100!

I have some PDFs of their previous editions, but am happy to support their new Final Edition (which also has 5E conversions of their 100+ archetypes and 100+ monsters in full, rich, color).

Talislanta is a unique world with a lot of history. Core mechanics will be familiar to anyone who has played d20, but Talislanta had them first. A great sword and sorcery game.

The planned Talislanta kickstarter has been pushed back 3-4 weeks because they are scrapping the 5e compatible appendixes. I for one look forward to the Epic edition of Talislanta. It’s always been a unique world, and their system always felt like a light d20 variant anyway.

2. Favorite RPG game world.

I love so many that my answer will change depending on which day you ask. But I will say Talislanta. My uncle introduced me to the setting long ago, and I inherited his collection of books when he passed. It’s the game world that showed me fantasy could mean a lot more than imitations of Tolkien. (Not that I don’t also love Lord of the Rings.)

@sbr Well, it depends. As a fan of Sword & Sorcery fiction, I automatically have a tendency towards this ancient genre of fantasy.

- So, Leiber's city of Lankhmar is charming and just fun, I like his rather sparsely detailed world #Nehwon
- I am an fan of #Glorantha which is big, old, detailed, ambigious, complex and contradictory by design.
- I think implied settings like that in core #DCC and #Bastionland are fun!
- I want to finally play #Talislanta - so colourful and uniqe!

@laidbackdm favorite #ttrpg of all time is a tough question.

Today I’ll say Talislanta, because I love the original world and my uncle introduced it to me so it’ll always have a special place in my heart. I inherited his collection, and he hand colorized some of the maps and illustrations.

But ask me another time and there are three or four that are all very near the top.
