2034, I used France as a base to create an EU superstate with nearly a billion people and an economy larger than China's. Aliens are everywhere, I've got an industrial base on Mars and Mercury.

Now it's time to figure out how to do Project Exodus, ie use all these resources to get my people the hell out of the solar system before the aliens take over.

Another #videogame genre I'm really into is #4X and #GrandStrategyGames. While there were quite a few games I've really been looking forward to, some for years ... it was an extremely disappointing year for me. #TotalWarWH3 & #Victoria3 were really bad; #TerraInvicta I've been struggling to get into (though I need to give it more time). #CrusaderKings3 continues to disappoint. #OldWorld was the one gem in the puddle of mud for me, but it's technically a 2021 game.

Y'all with the cult? Described as a Xenobabtist denomination with links to various other similar cults throughout the world. Believe the aliens are messengers of God.

Their leader, a southern white lady, is totally not Tammy Fae with alien spores in her brain.

Only faction allied with aliens. If you play an anti alien faction, pretty much immediately adversaries

Interesting, but dang they still a cult.

Want to flee earth and the solar system to set up on new world away from alien and weirdo human threat.

Leader is a Dubai tech mogul who has very interesting sort of manifest destiny with a Muslim twist in space. Most driven, even if I find him morally repugnant in how much in diplomacy in other things he is blase to the fate of earth.

Tied with inititive for dislike.

Team Surrender. Belief is if humanity surrenders, we can at least keep earth and stay independent. Understandable when first contact is seeing fusion torch ships flitting throughout the solar system making stuff in 2022 look like flimsy toys.

Leader is an Indian man, ex UN guy. Dudes definitely a pessimist, always thinks it's humanities destiny to off ourselves.

Diplomacy wise, can be really frustrating to deal with unless you are team peace or cult

Capitalist illuminati guys. Aliens invade and their goal is to get rich and powerful and exploit what they see is the Aliens disrupting Earth as a way to get a seat at the new table and control solar system resources.

Leader is a white South African business man and media mogul. Basically an 80s greed is good lovechild of Elon musk and Donald Trump. Real awful dude in tech blurbs and condescending in diplomacy.

I really dislike these guys as you can tell lol.

Give peace a chance faction. Game says this is the hardest one to play, I can believe it. They want to make peace with the aliens and all the other human factions. Leader she is a Chinese lady very smart and cares about human life. kind of condescending diplomatically though.

I appreciate the sentiment but it's hard to do this with xenophobic maniacs and a xenobabtist cult. Also the aliens abduct people and are trying to xenoform earth.

Devs made them out to be the unhinged xenophobes wanting to wip all aliens out the solar system regardless of what happens. Their leader he's an Argentinian veteran from the Faroe war and is handsome in a bad boy dad way.

Personally Lunatics but justifiable in that the aliens are trying to terraform earth and there are factions who are down to clown with making our home worse for their benefit.

Dang I love this game and it's space combat and spycraft systems.

Resistance: yeah fight them aliens and try to stay as ethical as possible. Leader is really cool military black British woman that doesn't seem unhinged, condescending, or in an obvious cult.

Trying to focus on a new day at work while 50% of my brain is still working on #TerraInvicta. It’s kind of wormed its way in there and even though I’m still really not across the detail of the game I’m determined to learn it! Having to break it up with periodic #mountandblade2 to clear my brain with a bit of hacking and slashing 🐴🗡️

Dude, #terrainvicta is unhealthily addicting. Played tens of hours and just now arrived at 2030 (did start over 2 times though).

Didn't even get to build ships yet... and the aliens are probably already considering me an annoyance worth attacking, RIP.
