I'm a climate organizer on my town's sustainability team. By day I am the product manager for #Terraso, an open source tool for mapping and collaboration on landscape management.

Inspired by #solarpunk, powered by a turbine running on a mix of dread and optimism.

I post on #crafting, #books (especially #SciFi), and #climate news, especially on #organizing. Not to brag, but I'm married to a #librarian. 😎

I am a climate organizer and a social impact technologist based in the Northeast United States. I lead my town's sustainability task force (local action can make a huge impact, y'all!) and work on a #nonprofit, #opensource project called #Terraso - tools for land and community management!

I operate from the understanding that rights, justice, climate change, and a happy life are all inextricably tied together.

I post about cool stuff I find at work, interesting #books (especially #scifi and #solarpunk), #crafting and #gardening projects, and the occasional call to action for U.S. users.

Posting this re- #introduction since I've been getting a bunch of new followers - perhaps because of the great #TwitterMigration of '22.

I had a fun moment today where my colleagues and I were exploring a geospatial dataset and the quickest tool handy was #Terraso.

Hi all, my name is Derek. 👋

I'm a social impact technologist, historically focused on peacebuilding and democracy promotion. About a year ago I switched gears and joined a nonprofit building open source tools for landscape partnerships. I'm working on a project called #Terraso (terraso.org) and looking at using technology to handle a bunch of environmental services. I've been kind of throwing myself into climate-oriented stuff (installed #solar panels, switched from oil to heatpumps, trying to convince my partner to replace a big part of our yard with meadows.)

I love #scifi, #woodcrafting, #chess, and... let's just say I'm working on figuring out #gardening. 😄
