#FBI is warning of a new tactic used by #cybercriminals where they promote malicious "#beta" versions of #cryptocurrency #investment apps on popular mobile #appstore that are then used to steal crypto. Sophos first documented this problem in March 2022 in a report that warned about scammers abusing #Apple's #TestFlight system. #Google #PlayStore also supports submission of beta apps; however, it is unclear if more lenient code review processes are followed there too.

I seem to be allowed now to possibly publish apps to TestFlight that are iOS 17 only.

I am developing an app, my first in swiftUI, to make it easy to find the usual things in Star Citizen, such as a weapon shops and where to be able to spawn ground vehicles.

If anyone is interested, I can open it up to public beta testing. Be warned - it is at a very early stage just now. Still doing work on parsing the data file from the game.

Been making a wee app for the iPhone to help me in Star Citizen. Sometimes it’s hard to know where you can spawn vehicles etc. This simple app is just there to help locate things.

This #sunday, I signed up to test the @ivory #macOS #Mastodon Desktop client (Ivory for Mac) through #Apple's #TestFlight.

I'm enjoying the experience. It’s like the experience I have on #iOS and #iPadOS, but has support for windowing, keyboard sequences, and more.

It is quite polished! Kudos to @tapbots! I look forward to its release!

The fact that #Apple wants 100USD/year from a #developer to publish an #app to their devices, even when it's a non-public app distributed via #TestFlight, tells me Apple only knows capitalism. This is a personal side project! I only want to install the app on my wife's #iPhone. I'm not a company and the app doesn't generate any revenue. I don't want and I don't need this app to be in the #AppStore 😡

Test items for @ivory #testflight is to disable drawers and bring back drawers and inline icons. Where are these options in the app’s settings? (A settings search function would be helpful here.) @tapbots

Finally got on the @ivory Alpha. It’s a game changer.

And not only because they’re not making me buy a new phone!
