1) sent that project I was working on off to some folks for review. trying not to hover. grateful they are willing!
2) seeing #TheFabelmans on disk tonight with a friend. (Ya get how the family name has "storyteller" right in it?)
3) feeling good about some health symptoms that are getting resolved after advice from my doctor. nice when it works.

We saw #TheFabelmans last night. Really good. A mini biography of the early life of Steven Spielberg (not his real name!). A sweet and engaging film. Great performances from Michelle Williams and the teenage Sam (Gabriel LaBelle)

There's a lot of smoke blowing on this poster, because #TheFabelmans is far from a masterpiece and far from being close to Spielberg's best film.

In saying all of that, it's an enjoyable, overly long low-key yarn that's well made without being in any way exceptional.

I’ve just watched #TheFabelmans. Yes, yes, a glorious love letter to cinema and to his family, from Steven Spielberg, blah blah blah, but when there was a scene in a camera shop, let me tell you, I was like this 😍. I drooled. #Cinema. #Film

Full review incoming but I was suitably charmed by #TheFabelmans even if it didn't quite feel like a revelation to me.
After all why would it?
He states himself in his introduction that this is his most personal movie but ALL his movies are _quite_ personal, right?

Anyway. It's sweet and charming and there are a couple of movie stealing performances and as a loving ode to "the power of movies" it's a very cozy experience indeed.
