Tears for fears weet als geen ander je bij de keel te grijpen met songs, en ondanks je bij elk nummer de tijdsgeest hoort is elke song gewoon tijdloos.

#TearsForFears toma su nombre de “Prisioneros del dolor”, un libro del psicoterapeuta norteamericano Arthur Janov. Y no hay ninguna impostura allí, muy por el contrario, es el punto de partida de una línea un tanto infausta que se confirma en el título del debut de la banda: #TheHurting. El álbum, publicado el 7 de marzo de 1983, es poseedor de un contenido sombrío envuelto en una elegancia pop que lo volvió exitoso y sentó las bases de una de las bandas icónicas de los 80´.
