Finally got around to reading #TheMagicians: Alice's Story and New Class. As much as I love the #syfychannel show (it's my favorite show of all time), I actually appreciated that these #graphicnovel and #comicbook adaptations/continuations took place in the #book continuity.

Alice's Story was a great way to see the first novel in an illustrated format with a different perspective. And I loved the concept of New Class and wish it could spin off into a new TV/streaming series after Season 5.

Watching #ChroniclesofNarnia #thelionthewitchandthewardrobe for the first time in nearly a decade and a half, only to realize how #TheMagicians ruined #Narnia for me in the best way possible.

I’m right at the end of Lev Grossman’s #TheMagicians trilogy, which I read when they came out, way back when. I tried to watch the series, but the characters didn’t work for me. Penny, for example, was way off base and they were all too pretty. The original plot got lost somewhere and I didn’t make it to the end of the first season.
I’ve been avoiding fiction for the last two years for some reason, and stumbling upon them got me enthused again. Waiting so long was almost like reading them new. 😄

My favorite #tv #series of all time is #SyFy's #TheMagicians. I've rewatched it several times and just love it so much. This is the first time I've seen this behind-the-scenes photo featuring #HaleAppleman (#EliotWaugh) and #JadeTailor (#KadyOrloffDiaz) and it just makes me miss the show that much more. Heck we never even got a proper Eliot & Kady team-up episode! But had several great #musical episodes for them to really shine.

I was recovering from major surgery, and then the pandemic hit, and somehow I stopped reading fiction. It just didn't hold my attention. I read lots of poetry and social history and lots of weird fun stuff.
Last week I was thinking about how the TV series of Lev Grossman's #TheMagicians did not work for me, the characters were just way off and too "Hollywood" for me. But I was inspired to go back and try to read the first book. Wow! I love it more than ever and my reading imagination is back! 🎉
