Heute habe mir #TheMenu angeschaut. Da habe ich mich nur gefragt, wer denkt sich sowas aus und wer spielt da freiwillig mit. Nichts, was sonderlich originell wäre. Wer etwas schockierendes, absurdes und originelles sehen möchte, das in einem Restaurant spielt, sollte sich "Der Koch, der Dieb, seine Frau und ihr Liebhaber" ansehen.

I'm not going to say anything detailed about #TheMenu. It's a fine movie that deserves many awards.

But it has the unfortunate (?) accomplishment of distilling into 1:47 a great many things I hate about our culture. Which is the point, so it is a success, but I am really testy right now.

Welp. I've now seen just about the entirety of #TheMenu via #TikTok by accident, though it was gripping enough that I ended up watching all the clips that popped up in my FYP instead of quickly scrolling past to avoid spoilers. That's happened enough that sometimes I wonder if I could just save some money by watching shows/movies in pieces via TikTok or YouTube instead of just accepting it every time these streaming services hike their prices 😆
