Unusually the internal lights are on inside the lighthouse, I think maintenance was being carried out on it. This location often records the highest wind speeds in the UK when it's stormy. It was the complete opposite of that last night, so calm!

Only 2 of the chalk stacks are visible in this telephoto view. There is a third "Needle" and a chalk headland out of shot.

This is quite a famous drive here on the #IsleofWight The #MilitaryRoad is recognised as one of the most beautiful roads in the UK.

Walking slightly off the beaten track to gain this angle my husband took this photo just as night fell, shortly after sunset.

Last night's setting crescent moon and #Venus over #TheNeedles on the #IsleofWight

My husband had been on #photoshoot earlier but knew that this view was likely if the weather behaved. He just made it in time!

When everything goes in your favour photography wise!

My husband took this shot of the #CrescentMoon over #TheNeedles #IsleofWight a few years ago. The moon looks full but that's due to #Earthshine and the perfectly clear conditions, the sun having just gone down on one of the few days of the year that this shot is achievable.

The inside of the lighthouse is illuminated which is a very rare sight these days. It was spectacular to witness. #ThrowBackThursday #Photography

This is a very old shot - I reckon from about 16 years ago, taken by my husband at #AlumBay on the #IsleofWight.

This beach is famous for the #ColouredSands in the cliffs which is often made into tourist souvenirs. #TheNeedles are at the other end of the beach.

It took quite a few attempts to capture the splashing of the wave, but as this was taken on a very hot day that was no hardship, despite getting soaked! #AvailableLight #Fotomontag
