At long last, I went to see An Cailín Ciúin today. I won't be the better of it for a while. Every single person in the cinema stayed in their seats until the end of the credits waiting for their tears to stop. It's a true marvel.

Although it didn't move me as much as Aftersun, I must also add my voice to the chorus of praise already out there for The Quiet Girl.
It's so beautifully acted by all, so quietly affecting with every word and little gesture, and a reminder that the smallest kindnesses can make major differences in the ongoing development of a child.

es un delicioso drama sobre la mayoría de edad a la par que un conmovedor estudio del maltrato infantil, con actuaciones sensibles y un manejo de la cámara excepcional para ofrecer planos que nos emocionen sin buscar el sentimentalismo barato. Ya en cines.
