The overall premise is that Christmas spirit is dying and must be revitalized somehow or else the Santa magic will fall apart. It's The Neverending Story with Santa. Tim Allen's character suspects it's because political correctness is keeping people from saying "Merry Christmas". It's sort of indicated that Millennials are just too stressed out adulting to be festive, but there's never a reveal that he's wrong per se. "Happy Holidays" isn't indicated to be inclusive of Christmas and other religions, so the dog whistle sits unchallenged.

#TheSantaClauses is a bit more middle of the road than people give it credit. It has some nods to right-wing grievances but ultimately indicates Tim Allen's character is old and out of touch, while his kids have a better handle on the changing world, including being politically correct as a matter of respect and celebrating kindness as a virtue in-line with the figure of Santa Claus. There's actually an anti-corporatist theme, might be pro-union if you squint, challenges *some* sexism, and has a racially diverse cast. There's an underlying antisemitic premise, but it's not all right-wing. 🤔

Finally watched #TheSantaClauses and it was... okay. Nothing groundbreaking, not laughably bad like parts of the Escape Clause, just a very middling experience. Some good callbacks, but a major downside is that it has zero Judge Reinhold in it. He was my favorite part!

I have to catch up on the last Santa Clauses episode tomorrow. So I’ll be playing #Fortnite, watching #TheSantaClauses and binging #RickandMorty season 4. Can’t wait💜

The political correctness jokes in #TheSantaClauses would be at least a little bit chuckleworthy, if this wasn't a Tim Allen show. Now they just feel sad and inappropriate.
