I thought I had nothing for this, because I struggle to understand much about distinctions of genre. Not how my brain works. I just can't fully get it. Yes, I understand that Walk This Way is a rock song with some hiphop but I struggle with anything more detailed than that. So I had no idea what I like that might qualify.

Then I thought, wait, what about this? Starless by The Unthanks.

To start my #JukeboxFridayNight, and the theme #ThisPartInParticular, I'm going for Mount the Air by The Unthanks - specifically, the momentary pause at 08:50 in this video, followed by the eruption of the dramatic, surging, clogdancing finale. It feels to me like a storm suddenly breaking.

And I've gone for a live version, partly because it's great - they are a superb live band - but also because it was at the BBC Proms, at the Royal Albert Hall, and I get that lovely feeling of 'local band done good'.

By the way, this was the first Unthanks song I heard, and it was my gateway into folk. It came on the radio when I was driving late at night, and I had to pull over because it made me too emotional.

The Unthanks are genuinely lovely people. They're from round here, and I've been to see them play many a time. A very entertaining live band, I strongly recommend getting tickets if they're ever touring in your area.
