The white-necked raven has a much shorter tail than the common raven, as well as a deeper bill with a white tip that is almost as strongly arched as that of the thick-billed raven. Though predominantly black, the throat, breast and neck show a faint purple gloss. The thick-billed raven has a very large bill that is laterally compressed and deeply curved in profile giving the bird a very distinctive appearance. This bill, the largest of any passerine at 8 to 9 cm (3.1 to 3.5 in) in length, is black with a white tip and has deep nasal grooves with only light nasal bristle covers. #CORVUSPHERE #CorvusCrassirostris #ThickBilledRaven
