@Komnene
Yup, and when I play League, I expect to only be chatted to by people who think I'm good, *not* anybody who's mean.
And when I exist on fedi, I expect to not receive direct threats of violent physical harm like pic related. It's about etiquette, you see. Manners, matter. Gotta be a good netizen.
Sometimes life meets expectations. For every other time, there's Not Posting Publicly.
For the record, all of the direct threats of violent physical harm you see pictured here are still up and accessible, right now! Most of the people there are admins of their instances, and those instances do not have delivery issues, especially to employers or other League players.
I got barred from 2,000 followers for asking for help. My last hope at a job, or even someone to play with, ripped asunder, taken away forever, never to be seen again for as long as I live.
This is called "victim shaming", Mark.
It's when you take something that's "just not okay to do to someone, like ever", and then justify it.
People like the ones you're defending need to be monitored, and contained. @msh

Man this is one fine day to write software that will get the people that abandoned me, kicked out of their homes.
By downloading their public statuses that they publicly posted publicly to public timelines for the sole and express purpose of being publicly viewed publicly in public by members of the general public.

But seriously, not a single terf has been shitty to me, and an absolute metric fuckton of trans (and a few cis) lunatics on fedi have literally threatened to or have fantasized about torturing me or killing me.
So let's recap
Terfs do not threaten me.
Trans people threaten me.
So take the data together, and show me, where's the part where I'm supposed to take the side of the people who threaten to kill me?
That's a pretty awesome scam.
"Hello, we want to hurt you because we think you're with those guys!"
"I... Don't know what they do. I had a guess and someone got super mad so I stopped trying to guess"
"But you are of them! We want to hurt you!"
"Okay well I'm gonna go chill with those people who don't want to hurt me."
"We knew you were of them! We want to hurt you! Here's our venmo and cashapp if you want support our work running a ruby application."

"Why would you create a fediverse panopticon."
I mean, pic related, is just the statuses I saw or were brought to my attention.
Let me ask you this, after seeing threats like pic related, why would you *not* create a fediverse panopticon?!
Like seriously, *someone* has to keep an eye on people who insist on making such graphic and violent threats! They could hurt someone! We can't have a fediverse where marginalized people can be exposed to toxicity like this.
The owners of these instances need to step up, take responsibility, and explain themselves. #ThisIsWhyWeScrape
and yes, these are in a dedicated folder. they, in fact, have been promoted to a top level folder, because it is so important to remember #ThisIsWhyWeScrape
Still add the protective features though? I'm not Satan. #ThisIsWhyWeScrape

People favorited these.
People favorited violent threats of physical harm
People said "gosh, there's a whole fediverse of statuses, and among them, the ones where a bunch of psychos playing fast and loose with their endocrine system have mood swings and think it's a good idea to threaten an autistic person with torture and death, those ones are among my most favorite"

"r000t if you release your scraper, someone I know might get kicked out of their house." --someone today.
Then explain this. Tell me why this is okay. Tell me how the person who might get kicked out of their house wouldn't just as soon join in and fantasize about harming an autistic person.
Explain how these violent aggressors aren't the ones with systemic privilege, and how they aren't marginalizing me. #ThisIsWhyWeScrape #HoldThemAccountable
