I'm on a -spree.
Kind of.

I like the John French books way better than Graham McNeill's version of the Thousand Sons, because McNeill is trying too hard to look clever and that's a bit cringe.

But, and I can't stress this enough: I salute him for the invention of Screamer-surfing.
Jumping on the back of a Screamer of from a ship in low orbit and surfing the demon down - that's style!

Of course, Lucius did it. But also Sanakht. So - here's a portrait of him.

it's Marine Meat Monday again!
This time with Ahzek Ahriman, former Chief Librarian of the Thousand Sons. Arrogant arsehole, bitchy, angry, self-conscious master of the Corvidae.

Because a very vocal minority of Warhammer-fandom has flanderizationed the Thousand Sons (especially Magnus) to the point of absolute ridicule, it took me a while getting around to read the 40k-Ahriman-novels.

But, boy, do I enjoy them! It's such a good read.

I started reading the Ahriman-novels together with the short stories in the order their author deems best.

It's my first real contact with 40k-Thousand sons. And I really like how John French writes Ahriman. Very doubting, arrogant, insecure, bitchy, angry, unwilling .. he's great! I already love him.

He was my favourite 15th-Legion-guy in 30k and is still going strong.

Okay Mastodon, I need opinions.
I'm starting a Thousand Sons force, and I need a paint scheme. I don't want to do the official blue and yellow, I'm not sold on their Heresy red scheme either. White is also out, since that's my death guard color.
