I'd like to ask for some #career advice within #infosec

A while back I asked my professor about getting into #ThreatIntel and he basically said that it was a young people's game and those of us past 30 shouldn't pursue it. Now he has a tendency to exaggerate his wording but I'd love to hear others' voice on it.

I am a collector of hobbies (#writing, #electronics, #photography, and more) but my day job is #InfoSec and #ThreatIntel. I also believe in breaking down barriers and there are lots of those in security.

I joined Mastodon in 2018 and lurked until recently. I experimented with running my own server, but building a community is hard work — and I can't commit to that right now.
