@peterbutler I was using the hashtag search function because there is no free text search. I was searching on #Tib to find the various spellings of Tibbetts (one or 2 b's and t's) after I realized I misspelled it.

Die #TIB führt derzeit eine #Umfrage dazu durch, welche Einstellungen, Gewohnheiten und Erwartungen Forschende in Bezug auf das wissenschaftliche #Publizieren haben. Ziel ist es, vor allem auch für kleine #OpenAccess-Zeitschriften die Möglichkeit zu schaffen, durch einfach umsetzbare technische Neuerungen die Sichtbarkeit ihrer Artikel und damit auch ihrer Autor:innen zu erhöhen.

There are new PC workstations in the public area of the #TIB. The client itself had to be based on Win 10, but I have used a lot of free and #opensource software: Login works with pGina, a foss replacement for Credential Provider (and GINA) to authenticate with the #library card on Windows. Browser is #Firefox and I use @libreoffice, SumatraPDF as a PDF and eBook reader, NAPS2 with Tesseract for automated text recognition (OCR), VLC Media Player and of course Notepad++.

At my work at the German National Library of Science and Technology (TIB) we use some nice #OpenSource tools: e.g. instead of Skype or Teams we can chat with each other via XMMP. This is then the "TIB Chat". Pidgin runs on the Windows or Gnu/Linux clients and you can use Conversations for your mobile phone.🚀

During the film digitization projects at our library #TIB (https://tib.eu) the digitization team specified a conservation metadata schema to store alongside the digital masters. They didn't find an existing one, so they wrote one. They finally released the xsd schema and the data dictionary! Feedback highly welcome.
